Hello friends!
A LOT of us have to do research & planning, regardless of what industry we’re in, or what specific job we have. It’s just part of most work these days.
The good news is that there are some shiny new AI toys to help us with this! Let’s have a look! We’re sure some of you have heard of all of these new-fangled research aids that seem to be dropping out of the sky: Deep Research, an open-source Deep Research, etc. We’re sure by end of Feb, EVERY company will have their own Deep Research.
But what IS “Deep Research” actually, and what is it good for?
We got the Open AI ChatGPT Pro subscription ($200/month) and decided to find out! After playing around with it for a day or two, we realized that yes, it does create a really great case study or research paper on pretty much any topic, but it ALSO is able to create a really great plan or framework for almost any topic. THAT we find much more useful.
Basically how this works is that it’s a series of AI Agents working together. There is a user-agent, which talks to the user to get clarity. Another agent does research, for example parsing through various articles that are openly available. There’s also a writing agent, which consolidates it all together (then hands it over to you). Overall, it was a pretty cool experience that took about 5 minutes.
The example scenario we tried was this: Help me come up with a compelling plan for the C-suite of a German traditional company to start their AI journey in 2025. Bring me real case studies from other German companies, adoption techniques that have worked and the ROI of these projects. Help me come up with an ROI measuring method as well as a step-by-step 12 week adoption plan.

So here was how it went:
- We put the above prompt into the box and clicked “Deep Research”
- We got a response back asking for more information (How big is the company? Do you want the plan to be for a specific part of the business, etc)
- Then the Agents went to work.
- We could see the Research agent listing all of the sources it was finding on the left-sidebar along with a list of actions.
- At the end of it, we had a pretty good 12 week plan for a German company (Which was downloadable. )
Overall, a 10/10 experience. Would do again!
IF there are specific scenarios you want us to try, holler back at us. We are going to mess with this for a few more weeks to see what we can learn!
Happy Monday friends!
